Using the SWAG Method of Strength Assessment and Training in Rehabilitation
Strength assessment and training for patients in rehabilitation is often based on the therapist’s intuition and level of experience, without much evidence to support clinical decision making. This lecture/lab course is designed to provide therapists with a scientific basis for assessing the strength of their patients as well as rationale for progression of strength training. Let’s Talk Ethics: Moral Reasoning as a Component of Clinical Decision-Making
This interactive workshop will provide an opportunity to explore such select contemporary ethical issues as the role of morals in ethical decision-making, the therapist’s role as a safety net provider, and abandonment. Reflection and dialogue about sample therapy cases within the framework of our professions’ core documents encompassing fundamental ethical principles and realistic practical constraints will occur.
