"Amazing gift" aids walking at OUHSC
By Jeff Raymon, Staff Writer
After
Jane Sholer was paralyzed in a diving accident three years ago, a machine at
the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas was a miracle-maker.
The Lokomat allowed the now 24-year-old to stand and begin to relearn how to
walk, but she was only able to use it as part of a four-month research study.
Upon hearing of the woman's injury and the help the machine
provided, a group of metro-area residents raised money to
place one at the University of Oklahoma College of Allied
Health.
