Procedure for New Academic Program Development The Chair of the department where the new program will be housed shall meet with the Dean of the College to discuss the department's interests in pursuing the development of a new program. The department Chair and the Dean will name a planning task force to develop the proposal. At a minimum the task force will be composed of a faculty member from the department who will chair the task force, a faculty member from another department who is a member of the College Academic Program Council, and the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. The planning task force will develop the formal proposal for the new program in consultation with the department Chair, the College Academic Program Council and others, as appropriate. The task force will review the proposal jointly with the department Chair and the Dean prior to submission to the College Academic Program Council. Adopted: January 8, 2001 |
