Andrea Fowler, a senior student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, has been selected by the OU-Norman Office of Student Affairs as the Outstanding Senior Student of the Joe C. and Carole Kerr McClendon Honors College. Ms. Fowler will be recognized by President Boren at a reception on November 13, 2009.
Congratulations to Ms. Ashley Hyneman, a senior in the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, has been selected as the College of Allied Health Senior Student Award recipient! Ms. Hyneman is graduating with a major in Nuclear Medicine Technology this spring.
She will be presented this award at a reception with President Boren on November 13, 2009. Please join me in extending Congratulations to Ashley on receiving this award.
Congratulations to Jessica Haddad, a senior student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has been selected by the OU-Norman Office of Student Affairs as the Overall Outstanding Senior Woman Student of OU!
Ms. Haddad will graduate this spring and plans to attend graduate school in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She will be recognized by President Boren at a reception on November 13, 2009. I was told that Jessica may be the first to have received this overall award on the OU Health Sciences Center campus!
The College received 14 outstanding applications for the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professionals (ASAHP) Scholarship of Excellence. Congratulations to Andrea Fowler for being selected as the OUHSC College of Allied Health nominee for the 2009 ASAHP Scholarship. Andrea is a student in the Communication Sciences & Disorders program and is eligible to compete with other nominees from ASAHP member institutions. The selected student will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Congratulations for Maria McKee, recipient of the 2008 Scholarship of Excellence by the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP) Scholarship. ASAHP sponsors a scholarship program for allied health students enrolled in its member schools. The purpose of the scholarship program is to recognize outstanding students in the allied health professions who are achieving excellence in their academic programs and have significant potential to assume future leadership roles in the allied health professions. Maria is working on her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology.
The scholarship program was funded by health care employers participating in the College of Allied Health Career Fair 2008
