The fieldwork and clinical education programs of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences exist within the academic programs in occupational therapy and physical therapy to allow students enrolled in course work to apply knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom and laboratory in the clinical setting. "Amazing gift" aids walking at OUHSC

After Jane Sholer was paralyzed in a diving accident three years ago, a machine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas was a miracle-maker.

The Lokomat allowed the now 24-year-old to stand and begin to relearn how to walk, but she was only able to use it as part of a four-month research study.

Upon hearing of the woman's injury and the help the machine provided, a group of metro-area residents raised money to place one at the University of Oklahoma College of Allied Health.
