The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences is offering a variety of lecture formats and time offerings to meet the demands of busy practitioners. Full to one half day intensive courses are offered on a variety of topics related to occupational and physical therapy practice. All courses are evidence-based, offering the latest in usable research information. Most courses are offered through distance education and therefore available on both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City OUHSC campuses, unless otherwise noted. Cost is dependent on number of class hours. The 6th Annual Spinal Manipulation Update was held in March 2009 at OU-Tulsa, and was attended by physical therapists and physicians from Oklahoma and over 20 other states. Since 2005, Bill Kinsinger MD has also been a valued member of the faculty for the Spinal Manipulation Update courses. He makes a presentation similar to the video below.

The 2nd Annual Ertl Symposium was held in April 2009 at OUHSC in Oklahoma City, and was attended by amputees, physical therapists, occupational therapists, prosthetists, nurses and physicians from Oklahoma and many other states. This online course provides a resource for clinicians to refresh or update their wound care knowledge. It is divided into 10 required modules and one optional module. To receive continuing education credit, a comprehensive post-test must be passed with an 80 percent score or higher. The exam may be retaken as many times as necessary to pass. Improving Hand Function after Acute Neurological

Therapeutic Management of Cumulative Trauma Disorders

Learn the basic concepts of cumulative trauma disorders, including sites of impairments in the upper extremity (nerve and tendons), basic ergonomic principles, and general concepts of treatment. Once the examination is passed a certificate can be printed.

STARS Courses
The Statewide Training Regional Support (STARS) program is a centralized training system for individuals working with and families of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, students age 6 through 21 with disabilities, and adults with disabilities. STARS is supported with funds from Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Developmental Disabilities Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Oklahoma Assistive Technology Center (OATC)
OATC offers a variety of AT trainings year-round for professionals working
