WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES! Our Department is on the move! We are the only department in the country to offer integrated curricula for our Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) and Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) students, which prepares them to become leaders in the changing and challenging health care environment of the 21st Century. Learning experiences are routinely complimented with evidence and experience our faculty contribute from their research, clinical practice, and involvement in community health initiatives. Our students learn early the skills and strategies required for being a successful member of a health care team. Our Department is advancing our professions! Occupational therapy and physical therapy clinicians are studying in our Doctor of Science (DSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs. The pediatric specialization of the DSc program is primarily online and the orthopedic specialization has several online courses. The program is designed for students seeking advanced education in evidence-based practice and new theories in teaching and administration. Their culminating academic responsibilities are in their scholarly work and leadership practicum. The PhD faculty mentor students in rehabilitation research topics critical for today’s practice with an eye towards technological and basic sciences advances that also impact on rehabilitation. Explore our website and enjoy learning about our programs, faculty, and students. You will find the Department offers unique and exciting experiences for both emerging and seasoned therapists.
