SCHEDULED ON REQUEST -- Telling Your Story (TELL)

    December 30, 2010

    Presented by: Oklahoma Family Network

Telling Your Story is training created for parents who have a child with a disability or special health care needs who want to share their story with professionals, such as medical professionals, students or educators, in order to provide improvements in our health care and education systems. Parents will discover how and when to tell their story effectively. A few reasons why parents need to tell their story include sharing information that cannot be easily presented by charts or graphs; to raise awareness and promote sensitivity; to influence public opinion by illustrating how policies affect families; and to help themselves and others feel less alone in efforts to make change.
