    STARS Goals

    STARS Goals

The goals of the STARS program are to:

    1. Develop a cadre of highly skilled individuals prepared to work with people with disabilities and their families.

    2. Provide a coordinated training system that allows both individuals and local/community teams to establish goals for professional development based on identified competencies and needs.

    3. Prepare local team leaders to conduct professional development activities and provide support at the local level.

    4. Empower families to function as confident and competent team members along with other team members by providing them with technical information, procedural information and access to training.

    5. Ensure that providers, teachers and administrators have knowledge about current federal regulations and state policies and procedures.
