    Advanced Practice Project

    Students complete an advanced practice research-oriented project that culminates in a publishable product. The purpose of the project is for students to gain an understanding of one or more aspects of the research process and apply that understanding to a clinical question. Examples of possible projects include:

    • An original research project, including a systematic review or meta-analysis, and preparation of a report for publication;
    • Analysis of data faculty have already collected and preparation of a report for publication;
    • Analysis of data in other existing databases and preparation of a report for publication;
    • Writing a case report according to publication guidelines and submitting it for publication;
    • Developing and evaluating a program and preparation of a report for publication; and
    • Writing a book chapter with a strong scientific basis.

    While working on the practice project, students register for at least 2 credits of RS 8430 Advanced Practice Project per semester and at least 9 credits total.
